Microsoft PowerPoint is the most feature-packed slideshow and presentation app. If you spend a lot of time making and presenting slideshows, you'll want to get PowerPoint for its ability to streamline the process.
Features and Capabilities
Microsoft PowerPoint is full of features, which can be a good or a bad thing (bad if you prefer simplicity over functionality). Most of the features are truly useful, though. It's not new effects and animations, but supportive functions that improve the process of building a slideshow.
Microsoft PowerPoint supports collaborative editing. Several people can log into the file from their own phones and simultaneously edit one presentation. Their names will appear in the top right corner. You can chat with these people and keep a list of comments. All comments will be saved with the presentation.
Many features aren't exclusive, but they add up to make PowerPoint better than other apps. Arrows and lines appear on the screen when you place objects, and you can click on an object to make it stay visible. Enhanced guidelines let you snap objects and change their size. The app allows you to nudge objects by tapping on them.
Like every other Microsoft app, PowerPoint is designed to be used on a phone or a tablet. An eyedropper tool, for example, lets you choose colors from an image with one tap and apply them to the background or other items on the master template with another tap.
In 2020, Microsoft added their Windows Defender Application Guard to Word, Excel, and PowerPoint apps. It allows you to copy, print, edit, and save documents without having to reopen them. This reduces the chance of getting infected with malware. According to Microsoft, they will add this safety feature to all their products, including Outlook. Even without the new tool, PowerPoint is safe to use.
Microsoft PowerPoint is hands down the best presentation app. It focuses on helping you create, edit, and deliver slideshows rather than giving you special effects and animations. You can customize presentations on the go and collaborate with others in real-time. Sync your presentation via OneDrive and share files with your friends. There are other apps that can create presentations, but PowerPoint has the most features of them all.
